Christopher Bausch is a consultant, teacher, and executive coach. In January of 2022, he officially “hung up his guns” as a Homeland Security consultant and retired from his position as Managing Partner of SenseMakers LLC. His professional background included a career as a Marine Intelligence Officer, which evolved, post 9/11 into leading the effort at the state and local levels to enhance domestic counterterrorism and all-hazard emergency response intelligence operations. During his military career, Mr. Bausch participated in a broad range of operations including counter-drug efforts in South and Central America; numerous Persian Gulf tours; humanitarian and security missions in Somalia, Kenya, Sudan, and East Timor; and clandestine reconnaissance operations along the Southwest border between the U.S. and Mexico. These experiences provided the foundation for Bausch’s tactical intelligence tradecraft and subject matter expertise in both counterterrorism and emergency response operations.
In 2007, Mr. Bausch deployed to Iraq as a Senior Civilian Counterterrorism Advisor to the Iraq Ministry of Interior (MOI). While in this position, he was directly responsible for coordinating the establishment of a national (Iraqi) counterterrorism directorate and advising its leadership on the conduct of operations. The Iraqi CT Directorate initiated operations in March 2008 and made an immediate impact on the counterterrorism fight by successfully infiltrating and defeating terrorists and insurgent groups in Sadr City, (Baghdad), Basra, Mosul, and Diyala provinces.
Bausch returned home in 2008 and resumed consulting with federal, state, and local government agencies. As an exercise planner and training program developer, Bausch’s signature exercise programs include “Chalk-Talk” and “Sync-Matrix” workshops, designed to assist participants in “synchronizing” complex, multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional response operations—i.e. Mass Casualty, HAZMAT, Maritime Disaster, and Mass Prophylaxis—over a threat situation’s lifecycle.
His passion for developing unique, compelling, and impactful training programs continues, only now within the context of his faith and with a focus on equipping believers and training up Christian leaders to live Colossians 1:10 lives.
